eToro has listed all Tokyo Stock Exchange stocks on its platform, including the Nikkei 225. The move brings eToro’s total exchange access to 26, with over 11,000 common stocks available for trading.
The company also launched a new “JapanEconomy” portfolio made up of 30 Japanese stocks, weighted by market cap, liquidity, and analyst consensus. About half of the portfolio focuses on industrial and tech companies, with the rest split across consumer, communications, and financial sectors.
The expansion comes as retail investor confidence in Japan rises sharply. According to eToro’s Retail Investor Beat, the share of investors expecting Japan to deliver the strongest long-term returns over the next five years or more grew from 5% to 14% over two years.

Lale Akoner, eToro’s Global Market Strategist, said Japan is “re-emerging as a structural equity story,” driven by reforms, better earnings visibility, and improved corporate governance. She added that the market offers global investors a chance to diversify away from the U.S.
Over the past year, eToro has added 25 stock exchanges, expanded its crypto offerings to over 150 assets, and introduced stock margin trading and region-specific products like UK ISAs and Australian savings accounts.
