Plus500 has officially entered the Indonesian market by acquiring the regulated brokerage Global Intra Berjangka. The London-listed firm is now licensed by Indonesia’s Bappebti, the national futures and commodities regulator.
The acquired broker had halted new client sign-ups in January 2023. Plus500 will offer its standard suite of products in the region, including CFDs, through a locally registered domain.
This move marks another step in Plus500’s global expansion, following recent entries into Colombia and Chile, and the purchase of an Indian broker earlier this year.

Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest economy with over 283 million people, represents a significant growth opportunity for brokerage firms. Plus500 joins other brokers like XTB and Doo Financial who have recently secured a local foothold, while many competitors still operate through offshore units.
The expansion comes as fintech firms increasingly target the region—Robinhood recently announced plans to acquire two Indonesian financial firms to tap into the country’s large base of crypto and capital market investors.
