Britain’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is launching an AI “sandbox” later this year, allowing financial firms to test new AI tools in a controlled environment. The initiative, part of a push to boost innovation and economic growth, includes a partnership with Nvidia to provide advanced computing power and AI software.

The “Supercharged Sandbox” will help companies lacking AI resources by offering technical expertise, better data, and regulatory guidance. Open to all financial firms, the program aims to encourage AI adoption while protecting markets and consumers.

UK Finance Minister Rachel Reeves has pressed regulators to remove growth barriers, calling it a top priority. Nvidia said the sandbox will let firms safely explore AI-driven improvements in data analysis, automation, and risk management.

Testing starts in October.
